DUI Screening, Education and Treatment

Screening, Education, and Treatment

Assisted Recovery Centers of America (ARCA) is pleased to announce we now offer a full range of DUI treatment services. If you have been charged with a DUI and sentenced to receive SCREENING, EDUCATION, or TREATMENT, we are here to help.

According to A.R.S. 28-1445, any person whose driving privileges have been suspended due to driving under the influence must complete a DUI Screening, DUI Education, and any DUI Treatment recommended by the Screening. If you have questions about DUI Screening, Education, or Treatment, don’t hesitate to contact us at ARCA.

ARCA is a supportive treatment environment offering a respectful approach to Screening, thorough and informative Education classes, and scientifically validated approaches to Treatment. We offer an understanding, non-judgmental approach for all our DUI Services, and provide quality services to all clients.

DUI SCREENING consists of a face-to-face interview with a clinician and one or more tests designed to look at your alcohol or drug use. The results of your Screening will determine your course of Education and Treatment. If you complete your Screening at ARCA, you may complete Education and Treatment here as well, and ARCA will also offer additional referrals to other facilities.

Wherever you complete your Screening, you are required to fulfill the terms of the screening, regardless of where you choose to receive Education or Treatment. Unless your court order specifically states otherwise, the Court will expect you to complete your DUI Screening within 30 days of the Court Order. By law, you will have five working days from the completion of your screening to schedule your Education/ Treatment with ARCA or another agency. BRING ALL DOCUMENTS (court reports, police reports, etc.) RELATED TO YOUR CASE TO YOUR SCREENING APPOINTMENT.

DUI EDUCATION consists of in-class education on a variety of topics related to alcohol and substance use. It generally consists of 16 hours of classroom work. At ARCA, Education is offered on Thursday and Saturday. Each class is 4 hours, and 2 are offered each day.

Unless your Court order specifically states otherwise, you are expected by law to complete DUI Education within eight (8) weeks of your first class.

DUI TREATMENT consists of individual and/or group counseling, and is based upon the recommendations from the DUI screening or referring court. Required treatments and length of treatment will vary. Participation in self-help groups or peer support programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is not accepted as Treatment, and hours will not be counted toward treatment requirements. Unless your Court order specifically states otherwise, or you reach an agreement with Assisted Recovery Centers of America, you are expected by law to complete DUI Treatment within sixteen (16) weeks of your first appointment by law.
